Situated just outside Still Bay, in the Western Cape, The Press Room Café is nestled in amongst the olive groves on the Olyven Houdt Olive Farm which was established in 1999. It is surrounded by beautiful views in the heart of the Goukou Valley.
The Olive tree is one of the few trees that all elements can be used. From the wood to make furniture to the healing benefits of the bark, leaves and oils and of course the delectable fruit. The resilient olive tree can be plucked and cut of nearly all its offerings and will still grow again from a mere sampling. This constant cycle of an olive tree can nourish us for generations.
Whether you’re sitting outside in the shaded courtyard in summer, or inside the old stone building, next to a sizzling fire in winter, the French Provence ambiance will offer peace and tranquility. Delicious and innovative cuisine prepared with the utmost care, accompanied by a select wine list of locally sourced wine and boutique style liqueurs is elemental for a relaxed dining experience.
